This work deals with the design and optimization of an experiment with ATF pins in the Training Reactor VR-1. Based on the sensitivity and uncertainty analysis, a similarity analysis was carried out with different types of fuel assemblies lattices of the pressurized water reactor VVER-1000. Using the calculated similarity coefficients ck, E and Pspect, it was possible to determine the degree of similarity of the proposed experiment with the ATF pins in the zero power reactor to the grids of the power reactor. For the optimized experiment, a critical state was found and basic safety requirements were verified. In the research part, the basics of sensitivity calculations are described and their implementation into the Serpent stochastic transport code is explained. There is also a description of the calculations of the uncertainty of the multiplication factor and of the similarity analysis together with an overview of the ATF concepts and a description of the VR-1 reactor and its fuel cells.
