Abstract

Navrhovaná Katolická teologická fakulta Univerzity Karlovy se nachází na Novém Městě v Praze na území zahrad Emauzského kláštera. Hmota objektu doplňuje uliční řadu bytových domů v ulici Vyšehradská. Objekt má 2 podzemní a 4 nadzemní podlaží. Jádro tvoří komunikační prostor s přímým schodištěm, kolem kterého jsou rozmístěny důležité funkce budovy. Kromě učeben, kabinetů a kaple tvoří velkou část objektu knihovna, která slouží hlavně potřebám fakulty. Podzemní části budovy jsou využity jako technické zázemí, depozitář a garáž.The architectural design of Catholic Theological Faculty of Charles University is located in the New Town in Prague in the gardens of the Emmaus Monastery. The mass of the building complements the street row of apartment buildings in Vyšehradská Street. The building has 2 underground and 4 above ground floors. The core is a communication space with a direct staircase, around which important functions of the building are located. In addition to classrooms, cabinets and chapels, a large part of the building is a library, which serves mainly the needs of the faculty. The underground parts of the building are used as technical facilities, depository and garage.
