Technical design of leak detection in breathing circuits in simulated avalanche experiments During simulated avalanche breathing experiments, a problem of leakage in the specially designed respiratory systems may occur. The aim of this project is to design and implement two technical solutions for dosing nitrous oxide use as a tracing gas both in the surrounding of the patients' airways and in the entire breathing system. Parts that were not readily available had to be specifically developed for this system. In total, 9 components were designed in the COMSOL Multiphysics program and then printed on a 3D printer. Both designed systems were completed and tested in a clinical study. The results suggest that a system with half-face mask is a better technical solution for the detection around the subject's airways in both inner and outer conditions. The leakage detection system for the other components was tested only during a pilot study under laboratory conditions, however, the manipulation with this system makes this system cumbersome for these experiments
