One of the unexplained events in the human brain are dynamics of attention. There are strong connections between internal attention and Default Mode network (DMN) respectively between external attention and Central executive network. The changes during switching from one network to another were evaluated by using a record of intracranial EEG in patients with drug-resistant epilepsy. The patients participated voluntarily. For description of the dynamics of attention, the coherence was calculated. As a part of the research, patients were asked a series of cognitive tasks aimed at switching between internal and external attention or vice versa, which were also subject to iEEG recording. An algorithm was designed and implemented that selects suitable electrodes for DMN and CEN investigation, then the signal is divided into these networks, filtered, appropriately segmented and the coherence representing functional connectivity was calculated from the resulting data, which is then averaged into appropriate frequency bands. Subsequently, the results are evaluated using a statistical z-test. In functional connectivity, the hypothesis for attention switching between DMN and CEN networks was not supported due to low z-test values. The z-test trends for functional connectivity between DMN and CEN networks showed a change around time zero, but the z-test values were not significant.
