The following thesis begins with a brief introduction to basic Heat pump types, including constructional specifi- cations and functional principles. The chapter about Heat pumps further de- scribes the economic indicators, with which it is possible to express their efficiency (COP and SCOP) and the effect they have on the environment (ODP and GWP). The following chapter gives a look into the basic categorization of warm water preparation. Two ways of stor- ing are introduced, homogeneous and stratificational units. To conclude the research part, there is an overview of current rete of electricity distribution. The practical part gives a thorough description of models for warm water preparation for both homogeneous and stratificational units made, including four various ways of heating, where three simulate the usual unit settings, the fourth works using a developed algorithm for finding time slots, where the water heating is the most effective that day. The last part aims at describing and judging given results. Simulations of each variation of heating with the use of actual parameters were done, and together with real outside temperature ratings and two different consumption diagrams concluded the consumption of electrical energy of that specific calendar year. Regarding the initial presumptions made, an approximate investment and maintenance cost was formulated. Building on that data, final expenses were calculated according to the NPV, and a possibility of financial saving using an optimized warming variant was stated.
