This bachelor’s theses describe the design of a device that is able to monitor the parameters of an electric vehicle battery during operation with emphasis on thermal conditions during fast charging. First, the different types of batteries are compared, from which the ones with the best parameters were selected, especially with the highest energy density – Li-ion cells. Then the possibilities of active battery cooling are introduced, and Peltier elements are selected for this purpose. Also, described are electrical circuits, that are located on the shield for used development kit Arduino Mega, which provide access to monitor the state of the battery and are optionally able to cool or heat it. The last chapter is focused on testing of newly made model of battery for an electric vehicle.
