Steel fibres being added to a concrete mixture lead to an overall improvement of such a mixture considering several factors, such as mechanical resistance, fire resistance, creep stability and other. Besides steel fibres, fibres of other material basis, such as polymer or glass, are added to concrete and so help to improve the overall workability of SFRC – steel fibre reinforced concrete. Various volume contents of steel fibres in combination with e.g. polymer fibres offer a wide variety of SFRC material properties under both ambient and elevated temperature.
