This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of calculations of prestressed bolted joints. There is a description of the design process, which is taught at FME CTU in Prague in the course Parts and Mechanisms of Machines 1. This procedure is compared with VDI 2230. The aim of this work is to compare the results obtained using the taught theory and available SW MITCalc, which is based on VDI 2230. The main benefit is the implementation of simulation using FEM and comparison with the solution using the taught theory and using SW MITCalc.
