The goal of this bachelor thesis is to execute a simulation of a hydraulic jump and to assess the effects, which cause the overflow ejection into the tailrace above the draft tube. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the process of the calculation of the design of a spillway and a stillin basin will be introduced, as well as the parameters, which affect these calculations. Next, the calculations will be done and then the simulation. In the following part of the work, the ejection and the significance of the overflow ejection for the use of water energy will be introduced. Two effects on the overflow ejection into the tailrace above the draft tube will be assessed. These effects will be assessed by a mathematical model in the program ANSYS CFX.
