This thesis is devoted to the evaluation of the effectiveness of the medical equipment procurements in the Czech Republic. The aim of this study was to discover and propose essential approaches and methodology for supporting the effective and rational acquisition of new medical equipment. A new approach for the assessment of the effectiveness of individual medical equipment purchases was proposed using a data envelopment analysis that does not require the use of expert opinions for the determination of criteria weights. This method has been proven on a sample of magnetic resonance purchases in 2014-2018.
