This diploma thesis deals with the construction of an additional mechanism located in the chassis of the vehicle in order to generate electric current during the vertical movement of the vehicle while driving. The thesis is divided into five parts. The first part describes the suspension, how and on what principles it works. In the second part there is a description of the suspension kinematics of the vehicle selected for design of the mechanism. The third part contains a summary of power generators that would be suitable for this design. The fourth part is about the design of application of the generator in the selected vehicle. The fifth part verifies the benefit of the system in the vehicle. The effectiveness of the system is verified to see if the shock absorber movement is sufficient to generate electricity or not.
