The thesis deals with the complex selection method called the Assessment Centre (AC) which is used for the selection of employees for managerial and specialist positions. In the beginning of the theoretical part, a selection process of employees is shortly described and the importance of defined competencies is emphasized. Then the AC as one of the selection methods is defined, including its main advantages, disadvantages, and also potential evaluation mistakes, and other types of mistakes. The emphasis is put on ethical principles. Subsequently, the individual stages of the AC are defined with a detailed specification of the methods applied. In the end, new trends are mentioned. In the practical part, the theoretical knowledge and recommendations are applied on the AC, which is used for the selection of candidates for junior positions, to review its effectivity. At first, the analysis of all internal documents was performed, then the interview with a Recruitment manager was conducted to verify and complete information, as well as to establish company's needs analysis, and finally the observation of the AC itself was made. In conclusion, the new concept of the AC is designed. It is based on the identified shortcomings and the interview with the Recruitment manager. The main sugges-tions for improvement are: creating of the competency model, recording forms with the evaluation scale, the new topic for the presentation in English, recommendations for the new model situation, the modernization of a sociogram, and also recommendations for a better positive candidate experience.
