This bachelor thesis deals with fingerprint detection using a modern non-destructive method called UV-VIS spectrometry. In the first part the identification process using fingerprinting is described. Its principles and implementation are discussed. Various methods of fingerprints detection, their advantages and disadvantages are described and in the end these methods are compared to each other. Second part deals with UV spectrometry. UV radiation is classified and its types are described. Due to the key importance for this method, the term luminescence is explained. Last part describes a device operating on principle of UV-VIS spectrometry. It deals with its advantages and disadvantages. Finally some improvements to these deficiencies are proposed.
