Ten zprostředkovává antimikrobiální a superhydrofilní vlastnosti. Vpráci byly shrnuty hlavní principy fotokatalýzy a možnosti využití její aplikacevezdravotnictví. Byloprováděno přímé porovnávání pomocí hygienických stěrů a sledování míry kontaminace vzájemně siodpovídajících míst vpokoji sprovedenou aplikací a vpokoji bezaplikace technologieSmartCoat. Dále byly shrnuty hlavní pozitivní a negativní přínosy použití nanotechnologie SmartCoat ato zejména voblasti bezpečnosti, ekonomiky a klinických důsledků. The thesis concerns the application of photocatalytic nanolayers SmartCoat in healthcare. SmartCoat is commercially available technology which uses the effect of photocatalyst TiO 2. It provides antimicrobial and superhydrophilic properties. The thesis summarizes themain principles of photocatalysis and possibilities of itsapplication in healthcare. Onthat basis, together with the experts, own methodology of testing in healthcare facilities was compiled to verify the effect of photocatalysis in practice. The main method used verify theeffectiveness was ATP bioluminescencemethod. A direct comparison was made byhygienic swabs and monitoring of the contamination degree of corresponding places inaroom with and a room without application of the technology. Testing was conducted over 25days at University Hospital of Hradec Kralove. Based on more than 279 samples thehypothesis that there was a statistically significant decre ase of ATP contaminationvaluesin all monitored places with technology SmartCoat has been proven (p-value 0.041; 8 x 10-16, and 0.016). The thesis also summarizes the main positive andnegative benefits of using nanotechnology SmartCoat especially in field of safety, economy and clinical implications
