The purpose of this thesis was to identify and asses the possible impacts of electronic medical prescription introduction into ambulatory care. Cost-benefit analysis, CBA and SWOT analysis were used in the thesis. Studies of several medical fields showed that electronic prescription has the potential to create significant savings and increase safety of patients. On the other hand, it was proved that such a situation has to be supported by introduction of other eHealth systems. Withoutbroader introduction of these systems, the general usage of e-prescription is economically inconvenient.
