Je podrobně popsán princip detektoru PICASSO (Project In Canada to Search for Supersymmetric Objects) a základy zpracování experimentálních dat. The diploma thesis is devoted to the research of dark matter and mainly to the techniques used for detection of neutralino as one of the main candidates of dark matter. The most important experiments in this research as well as the obtained results are presented. Principle of the PICASSO (Project In Canada to Search for Supersymmetric Objects) detector and some facts concerning the data analysis are also given. The aim of the diploma thesis is to study the influence of different types of neutron shielding (water, polyethylene, borated water...), which are accessible and at the same time used in practice, on the level of background in the PICASSO detector and mainly to determine the most suitable neutron shielding from the standpoint of the background level inside the PICASSO detector.
