The aim of this thesis is to investigate the changes in free volume distribution in Nafion? ionomer with dependence on its different hydration level. A modern non-destructive method of positron annihilation spectroscopy will be used. This method is operated at KFNT, MFF CU for many years. On the basis of measuring lifetime spectrum of positrons annihilating in the sample and further decomposition of the spectrum's components, which are characteristic for different ways and locations of annihilation, we can presume the change of free volume distribution in the sample. The outcome of this thesis will be used in fuel cells construction, because Nafion? in plentifully used as a proton exchange membrane in the cells.
