The presented thesis deals with the issues of the dead times, with their effects on the output voltage of voltage source inverter and with possibilities of their compensation. A survey on this topic was made. Four methods of the dead time compensation are described in detail and simulated in MATLAB Simulink. The simulations were done on the model of a voltage source inverter, that supplies an induction motor. The obtained results were compared with the simulations of the same topology without any dead time compensation. The compensation proved to be especially useful, when motor was operating at low speed. The presented methods and simulation results can be used as a basis for a practical realization of the dead time compensation in the future.
