Ever increasing demands of mobile users on mobile networks lead to an ultra-dense deployment of base stations. Nevertheless, this ultra-dense deployment may not be always cost efficient since the eNB may be underutilized most of the time. Therefore, to provide a solution with higher efficiency unmanned aerial vehicles with eNB functionalities become an interesting option. In this thesis, exploitation of unmanned aerial vehicles as a flying base stations is considered. However, with deployment of flying base stations, their optimal positions have to be calculated as well, as association of user with base stations. Therefore, in this thesis we propose a solution based on genetic algorithm to maximize network throughput while guaranteeing minimal throughput to all users. The proposed solution is compared to the existing algorithms by simulations.
