The goal of this study was to analyze an influence of Parkinson´s disease on symmetry of gait by computing symmetry index. Gait was recorded by portable system developed by Xsens company during extended TUG testing. There were created algorithms in the environment of Matlab program. These algorithms are capable of computing symmetry indexes from sensor data. Symmetry indexes were computed by applying of these programs on data collected from healthy individuals and patients suffering by this disease. Statistic testing was applied od symmetry indexes, after there computing. Results of Wilcox testing proves significant difference between control group and group of patients without medication. Differences concerning the medicated group of people came inconclusively at the 95% confidence interval for confirmation were needed confidence interval reduced to 90%. When using a discrete method of one parameter failed to detect any significant difference between the three groups.
