One of the main areas of current particle physics research is study of a new strongly interacting state of very hot and dense nuclear matter where gluons and quarks, under normal conditions tightly confined in hadrons, form a mixture called quark-gluon plasma (QGP). These extreme conditions are achievable during heavy-ion collisions on biggest particle colliders. Two most important experiments in this area is ALICE at Large Hadron Collider in CERN and STAR at Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider in BNL. Suitable probes of QGP properties are heavy-flavour hadrons. Main purpose of this bachelor thesis is analysis of its production.
