Abstract

Tato diplomová práce je věnována vitráži její historii, technologii, současnému užití a možnému překladu do jiných sfér. Vznikl objekt z vitrážnického odpadního skla ve tvaru ležaté osmičky, symbolu nekonečna. K této podobě jsem dospěla procesem vylučovacím, kdy jsem postupně zkoumala různé možnosti tvarového a materiálového zpracování. Hlavním cílem bylo propojit estetickou hodnotu s udržitelností a zdůraznit potenciál recyklace v tvorbě, zejména v rámci DIY přístupů. Práce zároveň reflektuje duchovní symboliku, nekonečný koloběh materiálů a zároveň příjmá klišé spojená se symbolem nekonečna.

This thesis is dedicated to stained glass its history, technology, contemporary applications, and possible translation into other spheres. The resulting work is an object made from waste stained glass in the shape of a horizontal figure eight, a symbol of infinity. I arrived at this form through an eliminative process, exploring various possibilities in terms of shape and material. The primary aim was to combine aesthetic value with sustainability and highlight the potential of recycling in creative practices, particularly within the DIY approach. The work also reflects on spiritual symbolism, the infinite cycle of materials, and addresses the clichés associated with the infinity symbol.
