The bachelor's thesis examines the possibilities of utilizing hippotherapy and its impact on postural control in pediatric patients. It defines the basic concepts related to hippotherapy, describes the conditions and resources necessary for its implementation, and the mechanism through which it affects postural control. The fundamental principle of hippotherapy is emphasized, which involves transferring the three-dimensional movement of the horse's back to the patient's body, thereby stimulating weakened muscles and releasing shortened muscles that influence postural control. The primary objective of the thesis is to evaluate hippotherapy as a comprehensive method and verify its therapeutic effects. Furthermore, the goals of the study focus on assessing the effectiveness of intensive hippotherapy stays as a form of therapy implementation. To verify the predetermined assumptions, a case study method was used, in which three subjects aged 8-12 years with postural control issues were observed. Each subject underwent individual pre- and post-assessments, and the progress of therapy was monitored. Finally, the two assessments were compared to determine improvements in postural control and other changes resulting from the therapy. The results of the case studies demonstrated changes in postural control that led to improvements in overall posture, stability, gait and breathing patterns, and pain reduction. Additionally, patients or their parents subjectively described the positive influence of hippotherapy on their psychological well-being, concentration, and social skills.
