Navigace v prostorách ČVUT FEL

Abstract

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou navigace v budovách a návrhem nového systému značení v prostorách ČVUT FEL. Empirické pozorování ukázalo, že navigační cedule nejsou používané a studenti prvních ročníků nebo příležitostní návštěvníci budovy mají problém najít svůj cíl. Fakulta tak nově u vstupu do budovy instalovala interaktivní kiosek s mapou, nicméně před jeho vývojem nebyla provedena žádná analýza a nevyhovuje požadavkům cílových uživatelů do takové míry, jaké by mohl. V práci jsou představeny metody designu orientovaného na uživatele, které nás povedou procesem vytváření použitelného a přístupného návrhu nového interaktivního kiosku a navigačních cedulí. Dále je představena teorie za pohybem osob uvnitř budov - mentální modely při orientaci v prostoru a praktické rady pro návrh systému značení. Hlavním výstupem je prototyp nového interaktivního kiosku vytvořený v nástroji Figma. Ten byl v různých fázích několikrát iterativně testován a upravován. K finální verzi prototypu jsou identifikovány výhrady, nicméně se jedná o dobrý zdroj pro implementaci nového řešení. Vedlejším výstupem jsou podklady pro další výzkum navigačních cedulí a map.

This thesis focuses on the issue of indoor navigation and the design of a new signage system in the CTU FEE space. Empirical observation has shown that navigation signs are not used and first-year students or casual visitors of the building have problems finding their destination. The faculty has newly installed an interactive kiosk with a map at the entrance of the building, however, no analysis was done before its development and it does not meet the requirements of the target users to the extent it could. The thesis presents user-centered design methods that will guide us through the process of creating a usable and accessible design of a new interactive kiosk and wayfinding signs. It also presents the theory behind the movement of people within buildings - mental models involved in orienting in space and practical advice for the design of a signage system. The main output is a prototype of a new interactive kiosk created in Figma. It was iteratively tested and adjusted several times at different stages. Reservations are identified for the final version of the prototype, but it is a good resource for implementing a new solution. A secondary output is a basis for further research on navigation signs and maps.
