Considering the growing number of women diagnosed with cervical cancer, it is estimated that cervical cancer has the fourth-highest cancer rate among women worldwide. The rapid advancement of technology has significantly impacted the field of cervical cancer research, yielding several scientific breakthroughs in the prevention of this disease. The objective of this thesis is to record cervical conization procedures using various TV scanning devices to choose the ideal one for this procedure. Optimistically, this will in obtaining an internal view of the conization to analyse the quality of the excision from the operational tool's trajectory. To fulfil the objective part of this project it was required to create a phantom that simulates the real anatomy of the cervix and vaginal canal. The structure was created with foam and shaped with scissors. There are two main parts that resemble the cervix, one before and one after conization. Both structures have been stained with a red marker to distinguish them from other parts of the structure. An additional step was also made by creating a slit on the top side of the phantom; this method was used to experiment with a different side view. This experiment was done under laboratory conditions only and not in operation theatres. The key finding of this pilot study is the ability to track the path of the operational tool throughout recorded video files of a cervical conization process that was recorded using small cameras. Based on the outcomes, of this experiment, the ideal cameras were found to be the intraoral camera and the dual-lens endoscope camera.
