This thesis is devoted to selected advanced control methods of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM). In the first part, the thesis deals with the principle and construction of PMSM. Furthermore, it focuses on the research of control methods and possible ways of obtaining the position of the rotor and therefore the speed of the rotor. In the following part of the thesis, the implementation of selected control methods into the MATLAB Simulink program is described and finally, the simulation results are compared an evaluated.
