This dissertation deals with the flow in panel radiators depending on the geometry of the inlet distance ring. The distance ring is an integral part of every radiator from a technological point of view and has a significant effect on the flow of heating water along the entire length of the radiator. Therefore, it is advantageous with its help to achieve maximum temperature uniformity along the length of the body. No publications were found dealing with the issue of spacer rings or detailed modeling of the flow in the radiator, which makes this research unique. A detailed model of the flow in the radiator was obtained by means of a mathematical simulation, which was validated using data from the measured experiment, where the model corresponds to the exact geometry of a real panel radiator. The measured values of temperature and flow were used as boundary conditions in the mathematical simulation. The settings of the mathematical simulation and meshing of the model were created with regard to the nature of the flow in the radiator, where the flow inside at very low speeds. Furthermore, such a two-equation turbulence model was chosen so that the problem converges sufficiently. Thus, a manual was written in this work on how to set the cell size and calculation parameters in the mathematical simulation for sufficiently accurate flow results in the radiator for future use. Based on the simulation model created in this way, other rotations of a distance ring with one hole, which is used in a conventional panel radiator, were subjected to research. This rotation did not bring the required temperature field uniformity, so the research was focused on changing the geometry of the distance ring. Specifically for distance rings with two holes for targeted directing of two flows into the radiator. These two-hole distance rings also did not provide a satisfactory uniformity of the temperature field. Based on the results from the rotation of the distance ring and the adjustment of one hole into two holes, a model of the distance ring with a wedge-shaped hole was created. According to the results of the mathematical simulation, this change in geometry brought the values of the temperature field, which were the most uniform along the length of the body. This wedge-shaped distance ring has been patented under patent number 309 019. Research results show that with the distance ring, which is an integral part of a panel radiator, it is no longer possible to equalize the temperature field. It would be necessary to adjust the design of the radiator for greater uniformity.
