Odolnost sítě amerických leteckých spojení v průběhu pandemie Covid-19

Abstract

Predmetom bakalárskej práce je skúmanie leteckej konektivity a odolnosti leteckej siete v Spojených štátoch amerických počas pandémie Covid-19 pomocou centrality a ďalších indikátorov. Motiváciou na výber témy bakalárskej práce bolo podrobnejšie pochopenie vplyvu pandémie na prevádzku leteckej dopravy a zároveň, akým spôsobom dokáže silný domáci trh ovplyvniť odolnosť leteckej siete. Na analýzu práca využíva dáta o odletoch a príletoch z jednotlivých vybraných letísk v Spojených štátoch amerických v časovom období 14 mesiacov. Skúmané obdobie slúži na porovnanie leteckej konektivity pred vypuknutím pandémie s obdobím, ktoré bolo pandémiou postihnuté najviac. Rovnako sa práca zameriava aj na regeneráciu siete. Konkrétne skúma tempo, akým letecká doprava a konektivita na jednotlivých letiskách rástla po dosiahnutí najnižšej hodnoty. Vďaka vykonanej analýze bola preukázaná dôležitosť veľkého domáceho trhu pri výskyte situácií, ktoré vedú k narušeniu leteckej konektivity.

The subject of the bachelor's thesis is the investigation of air connectivity and resilience of the air network in the United States of America during the Covid-19 pandemic using centrality and other indicators. The motivation for choosing the topic of the bachelor's thesis was a more detailed understanding of the impact of the pandemic on the operation of air transport and, at the same time, how a strong domestic market can affect the resilience of the air network. For analysis, the work uses data on departures and arrivals from individual selected airports in the United States of America over a period of 14 months. The examined period serves to compare air connectivity before the outbreak of the pandemic with the period that was most affected by the pandemic. The work also focuses on network regeneration. Specifically, it examines the rate at which air traffic and connectivity at individual airports grew after reaching the lowest value. Thanks to the analysis carried out, the importance of a large domestic market in the occurrence of situations that lead to the disruption of air connectivity has been proven.
