This bachelor´s thesis is focused on the aeration of a flat panel photobioreactor. the scope of the conducted research is optimal cultivation conditions of microalgae as well as existing cultivation systems. An aerator has been designed, manufactured, and tested based on previous experiments and research. The experiments are conducted on a pilot plant scale using optimal conditions for the cultivation of Chlorella vulgaris. The gas holdup, bubble velocity, bubble size, and regime of bubbling were measured, and the results are discussed and compared to the theoretical equations mentioned in the research.
