The brain, the main controlling organ of the human body, has not yet been fully described, and some of its functions and mechanisms remain unclear. One of these mechanisms is the processing of emotions. Previous studies have shown that the brain regions {\it superior temporal gyrus}, {\it medial temporal gyrus} and {\it inferior frontal gyrus} are activated during the processing of emotional stimuli. In this thesis, we compare the activation of these areas in situations where a person is exposed to emotional stimuli, which are human faces with different expressions of emotions, and in cases where he is presented with control stimuli, which can be various objects. We examined the activation and connection of these regions using spectral analysis, functional and effective connectivity. We analyzed recordings of patients, whose underwent epilepsy surgery treatment with intracranial EEG monitoring. Results proved significantly higher responses to emotional stimuli than neutral stimuli. This helps clarify how these brain regions work, and therefore understand how the processing of emotions works in the human brain.
