Obsahuje i kapitolu shrnující úlohu radiologického asistenta. This bachelor's thesis focuses on the use of instrumentation in nuclear medicine departments in the diagnostics of oncological diseases. The theoretical part briefly describes ionizing radiation, its interaction with matter, radionuclides and radiation protection. The largest part is then devoted to the description of the gamma camera, single photon emission tomography (SPECT), positron emission tomography (PET), hybrid systems and diseases that are diagnosed by these devices. It also contains a chapter summarizing the role of the radiology technician. The practical part of the bachelor's thesis includes the analysis of data of patients examined in the Institute of Nuclear Medicine of the General University Hospital in Prague from 02.01.2019 to 31.01.2019. It focuses on monitoring the number of patients examined on individual devices available to this department, the representation according to the age of the examined, the division according to gender and the most frequently performed examinations.
