The paper presents gained knowledge from numerical simulations of full scale experimental programme focused on behaviour and resistance of concrete panels under contact explosion. The experimental measurements took place in the Boletice military area in cooperation with the Army of the Czech Republic. Measured panels made of reinforced concrete are firstly exhibited to near blast and secondly to a contact blast. Since the start of the experimental programme, many types of concrete types have been tested. To verify the experimental results, numerical models are created. Numerical calculations were performed using LS-DYNA software. Multiple methods of modelling blast and its interaction with specimen are presented. Material models usable for simulation of concrete behaviour are introduced and discussed. Finally, future research prospects are discussed.
