Abstract

Otakarova ulice leží na rozhraní pražských Vinohrad, Vršovic a Nuslí. Je místem, kde se protíná několik linií, železnice, potok Botič, tramvajové linky a budoucí metro D. Jde o místo s dobrou dopravní dostupností, v blízkosti velkých parků, v širším centru Prahy. Jeho současná podoba ale těmto skutečnostem neodpovídá. Otakarova je zanedbaným tranzitním prostorem bez jasné identity, jehož podoba je důsledkem asanace v 70. letech. Diplomní projekt hmotově doplňuje stávající strukturu a zkoumá možnosti vzájemného propojování linií a zlepšení pěší prostupnosti místa. Projekt se detailněji věnuje návrhu vestibulu plánovaného metra, propojuje vestibul s tržištěm a domem se studentským bydlením a komunitním centrem.

Otakarova Street lies near to Prague districts Vinohrady, Vršovice and Nusle. It is a point where several urban lines meet, the railway, the Botič stream, tram lines, and the future line of metro D. This location has great public transport accessibility, is close to large parks, and sits within Pragues broader city center. However, its current form does not reflect these advantages. Otakarova remains a neglected transit space lacking a clear identity, shaped largely by an urban clearance carried out in the 1970s. This diploma project proposes new building volumes to complete the existing urban structure and explores possibilities of connecting urban lines, improving possibilities for pedestrian movement. The project focuses in detail on the design of the planned metro vestibule, connecting it with a market place and a building that includes student housing and a community center.
