The purpose of this paper is to present a project of a multi-purpose hall that will bring numerous improvements to the quality of life of inhabitants living in the historic town of Dvůr Králové nad Labem. One of the key concepts of this project is to preserve the history of the area by embracing the original architectural and design elements in the buildings. This way, the hall and its surroundings are revitalized by connecting the past, present, and the future. The goal of the project was to redesign the interior of the hall and expand its surroundings with the new buildings and infrastructure that will attract more people to the new area. The symbiosis of the buildings in the area preserves their original purpose while enriching it with new facilities. The hall will still be accessible from all sides. Embodying of the styling elements and building materials from the original hall in the new buildings will contribute to the holistic architectural style of the whole area, which will convey a feeling of harmony and unification to a visitor. The open areas outside the complex were designed with a goal of providing an opportunity for various kinds of leisure activities to the public. People can go to restaurants, enjoy themselves in various leisure facilities near the hall or by going a bit further a from the complex to enjoy quieter areas which will be created alongside the roads connecting the complex with urban areas. The original garden area will be used for construction of a multi-purpose hall which can be used for concerts, balls, film festivals and other events. This way, the hall can become one of the cinemas for the national film festival. The interior of the hall well reflects the spirit of its surroundings by having various sections, some of which are dedicated to various events, while others are open to its visitors that can enter the building from multiple directions. The hall also corresponds to the modern architectural standards for such buildings.
