NALEZENÍ IDEÁLNÍHO MÍSTA A NÁVRH BUDOVY I OKOLÍ NÁRODNÍ KNIHOVNY

Abstract

Národní divadlo i Národní muzeum jsou stavbami symbolizující svoji dobu a náladu naší společnosti s velkým vlivem na kulturu a hodnoty České republiky. Jedná se o instituce pěstující kulturní osvětu na nejvyšší úrovni, ale zároveň přístupné široké veřejnosti. Ostrůvky dokonalosti v jinak chaotickém světě. Oproti tomu, nová budova Národní knihovny, která se svou důležitostí řadí mezi výše zmíněné ikonické instituce České republiky, zůstává otázkou bez odpovědi. Cílem a snahou této diplomové práce je pro tuto stavbu najít ideální místo v organismu města, sestavit program, koncepci a navrhnout budovu instituce státního i mezinárodního významu.The National Theatre and the National Museum are buildings symbolising its time and the state of mind of our society with a great influence on the national culture and values of Czech republic. These institutions are responsible for fostering cultural enlightenment on the highest possible level, but also remain accessible to the wide public. Isles of perfection in the middle of chaos. The new building of the National Library, that belongs among the iconic type of institution as the ones cited above, however remains a question without an answer. This “master thesis“ attempts to find an optimal location in the urban structure of the capital for this building, form a program and a concept and design a construction of an institution of a national and international significance.
