Abstract
The bachelor's thesis "Motivation in Vocational Subjects" focuses on how vocational high school students are motivated to learn and perform better. In the theoretical part I deal with the definition of motivation and theories of motivation. I also deal with the concepts of moti-ve, need, incentive and motive in the learning process, the division of motivation, mainly into internal and external, motivating and demotivating students and the role of the teacher in the development of student motivation. The aim of the practical part is to find out what moti-vates to choose a school and field of learning, what or who motivates the students to learn and perform better. This research was elaborated through a questionnaire survey. Students of vocational high schools were interviewed.
