Abstract
The primary focus of this thesis is the development of a Lagrangian cellcentred unstructured code for hydrodynamic simulations, which was developed in Cartesian coordinates up until this point, and its extension into cylindrical coordinates. One key element is the description and implementation of a selected numerical scheme for the discretization of the Euler equations, accompanied by a variety of test problems, which are used for the analysis of said numerical scheme, especially in terms of robustness and symmetry preservation. Furthermore, a simple model for laser absorption on critical surface will be designed, implemented and tested on a sample simulation.
