Abstract
In this work two treatment modalities of hyperthermia, radiotherapy and their combination, are of concern. The theoretical part is aimed at radiotherapy and its divisions, staging of oncological diseases and TNM classification of tumours. Furthermore, external radiotherapy, medical treatment planning and problematics of hyperthermia are discussed. In the practical part the decrease in size of the desired volume of PTV between patients in two groups is compared. The first group contains 14 patients, the second group 12, in total of 26 patients being taken into the equation. All of them had been treated at the radiotherapeutic department at the hospital Nemocnice Na Bulovce during the years 2012 - 2016. A decrease of tumorous mass on average of 30% had been proven in the first group of patients treated with both hyperthermia and radiotherapy. In the group of patients being treated with radiotherapy alone, the decrease in tumorous mass was smaller.
