Abstract
The diploma project solves the assignment of the student architectural competition for design of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa. The design corresponds to the traditional Ethiopian architecture, local conditions and at the same time respects the competition regulations. The embassy consists of six parts. The representative part is used to hold official events of the ambassador and the diplomatic staff. Furthermore, the building has office space for employees of the embassy. The housing section serves employees and their families. The only part that is fully accessible to the public is the visa and consular building, which can be entered from the garage and the car park in the southern side of the property. A separate part is the residence of the Ambassador, which also serves partly for representative purposes of less official character. A completely separate part is the object for local forces, which is designed on the premises of the embassy, but is located outside the main building for security reasons. A dedicated part of the garden is assigned to each part of the building.
